Of course, you know there’s the beach. And an array of dining options. And more shops than you can poke a credit card at. But when you’re visiting somewhere like Noosa, the best recommendations always come from the locals. Here’s ours..
Start your weekend right with postcard-worthy views from the Noosa National Park. It’s an easy stroll from Netanya and once there, you’ll be greeted by coastal walks, picnic spots and scenic beach views as far as the eye can see.
Wander back to town and head to the Hastings Street strip for a spot of shopping. We suggest making a stop at Signature on Hastings, Palm Noosa and Alterior Motif to stock up on wardrobe souvenirs.
You’ve worked up an appetite, and what better location to eat lunch than Noosa’s iconic beachfront? There’s plenty of options serving up mouth-watering bites and refreshing drinks to fuel your afternoon. Bistro C and Season Restaurant, for example.
Surely it’s time for the beach? If you have a 4WD, consider paying a visit to Noosa North Shore. Naturally it’s perfect for an afternoon dip or surf, but this iconic stretch of sand is also famous for horse-riding and 4 wheel driving. Grab a coffee from Providore on Hastings before you go, and head to Tewantin to meet the car ferry that will take you across the Noosa River.
Make your way back to Noosa — sleepy and covered in sand — and wander to Laguna Lookout to catch a breathtaking sunset. In our opinion, it’s the best way to wind down a day in Noosa.
Rise and shine with a dip at Noosa Main Beach. No trip is complete without it. Grab a towel, stroll to the beach and set yourself up for a morning by the sea. Don’t forget your sunscreen, and a good book. Maybe an ice-cream.
It’s mid-morning now — the perfect time to hit the Noosa Farmers Markets. Held every Sunday, it’s about a 5 minute drive from Noosa Main Beach, and stocked with all your market favourites: locally roasted coffee, seasonal produce, gourmet condiments, and everything else you could need for an afternoon platter on your balcony. Not to mention, hand-crafted souvenirs to take home with you.
Slow holiday mornings equal perfect timing for a ferry adventure along the Noosa River followed by lunch at Noosaville's Noosa Boathouse.
Famous for its river views and laidback attitude, Noosaville is a melting pot of holiday fun with open air restaurants and a wealth of water activities.
Keen to get out of town? A Noosa country drive is the perfect way to explore nature, food, culture and village life. Visit noosacountrydrive.com.au to choose your journey and uncover hidden gems.
If you’ve got a bit more time up your sleeve (and you’re not done with all the nature that Noosa has to offer) book yourself into a paddle through the Noosa Everglades. As one of only two everglades systems on earth, Noosa Everglades is described as a world of water, wilderness and wonder. Opt for guided and self-guided kayak tours, as well as kite surfing and sailing.
Wind down your epic Noosa weekend with dinner and drinks at one of Noosa’s most celebrated restaurants. Some of our favourites? Sum Yung Guys, Wasabi, Ricky’s Noosa, Locale and of course Sails, which is located right here in the Netanya Noosa precinct.
All that’s left to do after that is share a nightcap on your balcony and start planning your next Noosa visit. We know you’ll be back soon.
